Everyday I feel so lucky and blessed to be a mother. I love my two children more than words can say. This year seems to have flown by faster than the rest, but in the end finds us very peaceful.

Grace Ann
One of my goals from 2009 was to “enjoy my time with Grace”. Not, because I hadn’t enjoyed time with my children/her, but I knew her baby time would go by too fast. I’m happy to report I have met that goal and continue to relish my time with her. I was adiment that we buy a rocker for her nursery (since we never had one with Grant) and I’m so glad we did. I cannot even count the hours I’ve spent with Grace in that chair. We sit together and rock. Sometimes just quiet, always giving her kisses on her head. Sometimes we read, sometimes we sing, sometimes we talk.
Some items to note about my almost 21 month old are:
- Full of life! Wants to be independant.
- Has quite the mullet, which Mark wants to cut. I refuse, as eventually, hopefully her hair will all grow in.
- Talks up a storm, especially while looking at books.
- LOVES to look at books.
- LOVES to be chased by Grant and scream at the top of her lungs in excitement.
- Has a gentle side that loves stuffed animals and baby dolls.
- Enjoys treats, just like her mom (cookies and chocolate).
- Addicted to her pacifier.
- Is a good napper, but not a good sleeper (still wakes up one or two times during the night!).
- Can jump quite high and do a summersault.
- Waves her hands furriously to be picked up.
- Makes us smile.

Grant
Have I mentioned how much I love this boy? He turns seven today! Seven. How much we’ve enjoyed him all these years! I recently went on a date him and it was wonderful to spend some time alone with my boy, he held my hand and talked about Christmas wishes. Grant is full of life, but a little apprehensive about it sometimes, just like his mother. Grant is social, just like his father. He has an interest in all things with wheels and loves to spend hours with his dad asking questions and looking up answers on the internet. And has the most infectious laugh that comes out when you least expect it.
Some favorites from this seven year old:
- Favorite food: Quincy’s potatoes and rice
- Favorite color: rainbow
- Favorite thing about school: That you get to see your friends at recess.
- Favorite thing to learn at school: Science and fun stuff.
- Favorite thing to do at home: Play, squeeze Grace, ride my bike, run around out back.
- Favorite toys: Cars, legos, really any toy
- Favorite thing to do with Dad: Going places with him and spending time with him.
- Favorite thing to do with Mom: I like to be with her.
- Favorite thing to do with Grace: Play
- Favorite animal: Cute lemurs

Happy Birthday Grant!! We love you to the moon and back!
